Charles “Chuck” Thoele is a Managing Director at RGT*. With over 30 years of experience, he has a broad-based understanding of all aspects of personal financial planning and investments.
Prior to joining the firm in 1991, Chuck handled tax and auditing matters at Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm. He helped create the personal financial planning department at the Dallas office of a “Big Four” accounting firm, established his own financial advisory practice and cultivated a background in technical field support for estate planning. Along the way, Chuck has also advised clients on estate and insurance strategies while he was with a major regional life insurance company.
An active member of the local community, Chuck was a founding board member for Believe & Achieve, a scholarship program for children from West Dallas. He is the former president of the athletic boosters club for the Parish Episcopal School, and has served on his church’s board of stewards and capital campaigns committee. Chuck has also served on the board of the Dallas Summer Musicals and the advisory board of Five States Energy, a locally based energy finance company. Additionally, he donates his time to the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation.
Even with all of his commitments, Chuck recently found the time to write a book, Bulls, Bears and Basketball, connecting two of his greatest loves—helping people manage their money and the annual spectacle of the NCAA Tournament. He has also been quoted in several national and local publications, and served as a regular guest on a Dallas-based business radio program.
Chuck is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. In addition, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University and his Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Texas at Arlington.
